Monica is an experienced and dedicated ESL teacher and language coach with over 15 years of experience helping students achieve confidence and fluency in English. She is passionate about creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences that empower learners to reach their personal, academic, and professional goals.
Specializing in all four core language skills—Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening—Monica designs personalized lessons tailored to each student's individual needs, learning style, and objectives. She creates a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable developing their communication skills while exploring topics that reflect their interests, passions, and real-world experiences.
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Monica is a native English speaker with a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Welfare from California State University. Throughout her professional career, she has worked for federal and county government agencies as well as nonprofit organizations while simultaneously providing individualized ESL instruction to students from diverse backgrounds.
Monica has successfully coached professionals in industries including IT, Engineering, Education, Pharmaceuticals, Marketing, and Salesforce, helping them improve their business communication, prepare for presentations and interviews, and achieve greater confidence in the workplace. She has also guided students in preparing for the TOEFL exam, enabling them to gain admission to universities of their choice.
Now based in Florianópolis, Brazil, Monica offers both in-person lessons for students in the area and online classes for learners around the world. This flexibility allows her to provide high-quality, personalized English instruction regardless of location.
